Wow, it seems like Boomers didn’t do a good job setting up a successful education system and left an entire generation of young people ignorant!
The behavior and ignorance of the younger generation in a country is a condemnation of their elders, not the younger generation.

This has to be the most ignorant generation in history.

They must filter out all the right answers. I have teenage kids and they unquestionably know the answer to everyone of those questions.

Yet still knew every answer.
It’s one thing to not know specifics but hard to not know anything about WWII

I don’t understand the constant bashing of the Baby Boomer generation here, and I’m a Millennial. Half of the boomers are deeply conservative, the other half are leftwing. Doesn’t mean they are all bad.

I was a history buff starting in middle school. And every single one of our history teachers were superb.
In HS, I had the same teacher for US History, WWII History and Government. As we were on our last day of high school and during our last hour in his classroom, he gave a solid 45 minute lecture going over everything from our war for independence to modern politics (under Clinton, at the time). Among his final words to us, were words that have followed me forever and I've never forgotten them:
"If you ever believe that you can trust your government, then your history teacher failed you."
Because of my history knowledge, I was always fairly astute in civics and political knowledge, albeit far less than today. And yet, I was still ignorant in many ways. I was an ideological bleeding heart so I sided with the Democrats back then, ignoring the evidence that the Democrats and Republicans are just two sides of the same trick coin. Now I see, and my teacher's words' ring even more true and are profound.
Many of these GenZ kids had good history teachers just like I did. They were taught the same good knowledge just like I was. They just dismissed it or learned it long enough to get a passing grade before forgetting it again. The reason these kids are what they are now, is because of mainstream culture. I've seen many Kaitlin Bennett videos and in one, she was interviewing kids at a HBCU. This one female interviewee, in particular, couldn't name a sitting member of Congress, didn't know who the President was before Biden, couldn't name a single President on Mount Rushmore, didn't know the name of her Governor, didn't know the two sides that fought in the American Civil War, couldn't name either side in the Spanish American War, couldn't name 5 US States, couldn't name the year the US declared independence, and thought that Russia bombed Pearl Harbor... but, when asked if she knew the names of the Kartrashian sisters, she immediately named all five.
That is the problem. Mainstream culture and the Establishment propaganda machine have programmed these kids to only care about "celebrities", fashion, sex, drugs and social justice causes.
TL/DR: Kids are dumb but the reasons are myriad.

I think there is some point to arguing that a younger generation is being formed by their preceding living generations. You can’t put all the blame on their elders but the elders are not absolved.

You realize these types of videos are selectively edited, right? They're also asking drunk kids partying on the beach, not honors college students studying for the GRE.

True, but anyone with an even Jr High education should’ve been able to answer those questions.

There is so much fake bullshite and lies on the internet drowning out the real information. It’s hard for me to argue that they have no excuse. Every partisanship under the sun is trying to feed you lies to shape your mind. And these lies can be hyper personalized now that everyone carries a computer in their pocket.

It is always easier to blame someone else. How much formal education did Abraham Lincoln have or Thomas Edison have? Louie L’Amour was largely self educated. They didn’t blame others. They went to work.

I recall reading how people who were in their 30 and 40s in the 1930s thought what we call the greatest generation was nothing but a bunch of hot-rod loving slackers.
The reality is our education system sucks. But you can't blame those in their 20s for this.
Also, these videos only show the dumbest responses. I'm sure they had a few where they answered correctly with a look of shock at the questions being so simple.

This is a testament that some kids should drop out and get jobs after the 6th grade. I assume they can perform simple multiplication and division and can read the instructions for making macaroni and cheese. At one time a high school degree meant something. Why should we waste teacher time on people this unmotivated or stupid?

You seem to misunderstand and are in essence trying to skirt blame. Who the hell spoils a younger generation other than those who are living and came before them? Everything is multivariate and no one thing explains why most Americans are the way they are these days but part of it is learned from their predecessors. If you don’t accept that then I don’t think you’re operating in reality.
