No, because retards like that did it for Ukraine, and the environment at least Trump may help the people of Iran. Biden just did it straight from policy to kill gas vehicles and to promote his cronies in the electric sector. Was a total grift out in the op, but we were told to do it for Ukraine.

The IEA has some say and most of it goes for exports. The refineries it was built for were demolished in the 1980s, due grades of oil it contains. European refineries love those, not so much US refineries.

I paid $2.81 a gallon on Friday - however, I think it was some sort of mistake made by the gas station - I contemplated filling up gas cans

So because he chose to act Edward, other presidents, just ran their lips he’s fricked Americans I think not. For most Americans, the impact of going from $2.80 a gallon to $4.10 a gallon is pretty minimal.

With an average of 12,000 miles driven a year and 25 miles per gallon it’s $624 difference if it lasts a full year at that spread that that’s $1.71 a day if anyone is going broke over $1.71 a day they need better Financial Planning.

I am not in the oil and gas business but wasnt the SPR more important when we had to depend on others for the majority of our fuel (before fracking, etc).

In the event of a national emergency I assume our government would cease exports of oil and all the domestic production would be for us.

Or am I missing something, as I said I know very little about this industry.

That theory has been brought up on here before quite a few times. However, if one suggested it from about March 2022 to November 2024, they were a Biden sympathizer who wanted to be dependent on our enemies for our energy needs.

I honestly have no idea where the reality lies of our need to have a beefed up SPR. It does seem to me it would be of help in the event of some wartime type emergency, but that’s just my simplistic guess.

Is just as stupid as this. We gain nothing from either of them.
Both reasons are totally idiotic and Trump looks even worse because he ran on a platform of lower gasoline prices and no war.

Basically Trump is selling the SPR to artificially bring the price of oil down now that he started a dumbass war.

This is the SAME THING Biden did during the early stages of russia/ukraine and every single boomer on this board criticized him, including their god Trump.

quote:

Donald Trump repeatedly criticized President Joe Biden for draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), accusing him of emptying the emergency stockpile down to a 40-year low for political reasons—such as lowering gas prices ahead of mid-term elections—rather than for a true national security emergency.

It's comical the hypocrisy here.

Were you posting these rationalizations under the Biden Administration?

Can we role all into one sticky thread or start a one month ban for each new Gas Prices post on TD?
