Not surprised at all.
One of my first thoughts when he was forced out was that he would try to pull what is referred to as “Ventenari job security”, in which a person is so indispensable that any attempt to replace them just solidifies their spot when they are put back there.
McCarthy was trying to shiv every major contender to him to make everyone come back home to him. Problem is that, at a point, it doesn’t work.
Otto Von Bismarck was notorious for doing things like that and offering his resignation. It bit him in the arse when Kaiser Wilhelm accepted it sometime between the Franco-Prussian War and WWI. He never got it back.

If Johnson is confirmed you will see a speaker that's as close to America First/MAGA as any of us could have hoped for. Johnson was an unwavering supporter of Trump during both Shampeachments and I believe Johnson has expressed his doubts about the legitimacy of the 2020 GE.

It's funny how out of tune to political reality some people are. If the position of this group was really as "fringe" with regard to the public as some try to portray, they would have been squashed like bugs long ago.

Help me out. How was he busted? And how was he creating chaos?
In short, McCarthy was trying to slip back into the speakership again...voting for himself in the anonymous vote and getting 45 others to vote for McCarthy too...once the vote was taken in the open McCarthy got zippo.

In the end, McCarthy proved himself to be non tactical and fairly unintelligent. He thought walking the same RINO mid ground would somehow endure him to the establishment right. There are reasons the right fails and look know further than McCarthy for evidence of it.

Wonder who the other 45 traitors are?

The placeholder Speaker and Graves are likely two of them.
Graves is going to be lucky to come out of this with a seat if the state is forced to re-district because I don’t see Landry, Scalise, OR Johnson saving his arse. All three have reasons to despise him.

I like Johnson.
Let's hope he calls BS on Trump when necessary. Certainly when Trump makes disparaging remarks about veterans or POWs or the dead at Arlington and when he wages trade wars for the benefit of multinational US banker as he and Mnuchin and Kushner did (both are Goldman Sachs alumni) and when he shuts down the country over viruses.

Because calling BS on Trump is the most important thing facing this country, damit!!!

No one brought up Trump in this thread until you just infected it with your TDS.
Get a grip man. It’s not healthy to harbor such hatred.

I bet Clay Higgins was one of them.

Yeah, no kidding. McCarthy is a snake.

They should wipe it clean and re-nominate JJ.

I’m sure that new committee chairs will be chosen. Jordan likely gets a plum one while Graves and others will get bumped.
