“I have decided to run and will be making a formal announcement within the next week,” Gabbard, a liberal 37-year-old Iraq War veteran as well as the first Hindu and first Samoan-American elected to the U.S. Congress, told CNN.

'Gabbard said “the issue of war and peace” would be the main focus of her campaign. '

Really? Against whom? She's not far left enough for the Dems so she won't make it out of the Dem field. She doesn't have the name recognition that Harris and Warren have. And Hawaii is an economic and social disgrace.

Against Trump?!?! Sorry, but nope.

This will help with name recognition. Some people run just to get known. She has zero chance.

In general she is right (correct) on foreign policy and left of center on everything else.

So far she is the most sane and level headed Democrat to announce. That means she won’t make it through the primaries.

I don't know if she can win but she can damn sure make some waves. She's the ONLY Dem out there that will call them out on their bullshite.

She's a vet.

She wants our troops home.

She leans towards Bernie but she's probably the most common sense Dem out there outside of Manchin and Webb.

It’s going to be unfortunate watching the DNC devour this woman.

She’s way too thoughtful and moderate for their base.

I admit it will be very hard for her to make it out of a crowded Dem field but if she catches some early fire I could see her being lethal. Similar to Trump actually.

Were Dems to take her candidacy seriously, it would serve the party very well. They won't. It won't.

She could do well out west, in the south, probably in the Midwest too. Helps her that Iowa is up first such that it is.

Problem is that Harris probably has a good grip on California, and I don’t see her doing so well on the east coast in comparison to warren, Bernie, etc.
