Why don't we wait for the other 40 to announce before we get all breathless?

used to be you had to build a record of accomplishment (and Trump did before I hear any of the shite about him not working in govt), now all you have to do is get on TV for a few years and you "are a strong candidate" and "can win"

We are fricked. The leadership development system is broken.

You get into the Ivy league/other "elite" schools based on your HIGH SCHOOL resume. Once you get in you ride the 3.67 GPA average to get out. Once you get out you are "elite" and cannot be bumped off the track by plebeians, even if you are an idiot like John Kerry. You get a pass to the leadership class if you are nonwhite, female, or both and you can string two sentences together.

Basically, our leaders get where they are based on their record/connections from high school or based on their demographic classification.
