ATP - Airline Transport Pilot's License

-requires 1,500 hours flight time
So, Tuscaloosa is describing a person with (at least) 1500 logged hours as a "new pilot."

OK.

No idea, but Tuscaloosa did not assert that she was a pilot with limited experience in this particular aircraft. He asserted that she was a "new pilot."

Clearly, she was not a "new pilot."

My SEL instructor spent several YEARS amassing enough logged hours to get hired by the airlines.

Since you seem to know, and I didn’t go for a commercial license, what are the requirements on larger airframe hours?

1500 hours I get, which given her appearance still seems like a lot of flying in a relatively short time span. How much of it is allowed to count to the total. Combined hours or prop, turboprop or jet, particularly large airframes in separate categories?

She likely had a restricted ATP which doesn’t require 1500 hours

Neither did I, so I don't recall the answer to your specific question re the larger airframes.

Again, my experience is several decades out-of-date, but almost every instructor I knew was an instructor BECAUSE it allowed them to amass/log a lot of hours more quickly than looking for work flying charters and such.

I would be surprised if this pilot had NOT been an instructor of some sort at some point in her past, for exactly that reason. At least "back in the day," that was how MOST (non-military) aspiring commercial pilots managed to log their requisite hours.

They should promote her to VP of pilot training.

Come on man, we all know she’s getting PAID for a movie. Disney or Paramount is going to make a movie about this heroic life saving pilot with the evil villains of movie being Trump and Elon cutting DEI/FAA/war with Canada. M

I have heard a landing referred to as a “controlled crash.” These pilots took that to the extreme in ramming the plane to ground, collapsing some gear and rolling the plane over……..successfully (no deaths).

hope your sources are good. There is so much misinformation out there It's hard to believe it unless we see it in person.

Just look at Endeavor Air’s social media. They promote “unmanned” flights

I'm told any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

Isn't landing just an elegant way to crash?
