Yeah. Accidents happen. Out of millions..millions of civilian/police encounters a year, accidents will happen..bad choices will be made. In your opinion, what is an acceptable number of these type of accidents to happen in an average year?
The problem isn't that these things happen. It is impossible to eliminate all "accidents". The problem is that there are no consequences when they do happen, which means future police officers are sloppier because they know they won't suffer any consequences either. It's a moral hazard.

Education can only happen with a defined criteria...which is why I asked you for your standard for an acceptable number of these type of things to happen in a given year.
An acceptable number is zero. Any incidents that do happen should be punished very severely.
quote:
That analogy make no sense. How are you applying it to arrive at similar situational characteristics?
Sure it does.
All reasonable people know that driving drunk is dangerous and puts the lives of other people at risk. Driving drunk is not an "accident", it is reckless behavior.
All reasonable people also know that firing a weapon at a mobile home is likely to injure or kill its occupants. Firing a weapon at a mobile home is not an "accident", it is reckless behavior.

Odd, it still hasn't blown up.
I wonder why.

James Bond has more repercussions when he fricks up and he is a fictional character with a license to kill.
The greatest Union that ever lived was the Cops...a gang unto themselves...and the greatest ally was Hollywood in mythmaking. Because cop juries are total roll-over Pollyanna's who wouldn't know reality if the defendant cop shot them in the chest on the stand.
It's all old folk Hill Street Blues - Dragnet bullshite.
I don't know when, I don't know how...but one day we allowed cops to be murderers and call it part of their job. It's beyond insane at this point. Daniel Shaver?
If you can't convict that cop, you can't convict Charles Manson if he was wearing a badge while his followers gutted Sharon Tate.

This is simple rationalizing about something you have no way of knowing.
You don't know either. Your assumption has no more validity than mine.

that why the kid with the gun ran
Found a gun on the path he ran?

Thats racist and not true...unless you have something to have based that claim in??
I'm white as white can be. 46 yr old white male born and raised in Alabama. I hate white trash as much as I hate black thugs.
This kid got the frick beat out of him in small town Alabama. Troy PD better be transparent AF about this.

Video needs to be released ASAP.
Holding it will only make it worse for the police. Troy is small town Alabama so I don't know how this will play out.
No it doesn't.
Because people have already made up their minds without all the facts.

How does the mom know which cop did what?

Yep, on both sides.
Now the onus is on Troy PD.

Obama's DoJ is no longer around, to keep pivitol facts out of the public view , for them to set the tone for victimization.

That looks like a child that's badly beaten. Sad story. I hope that all involved have a clean conscious if they left a child in that condition.

Jurors are scared to convict cops out of fear of retaliation especially in small towns.

And?
Oh.. he's just acting like the cops have an obligation to prevent a crime from happening or to protect him. They
clearly do not and that has held up in court multiple times.
Frankly.. an officer looking for dirt is nothing more than harassment.

Accidents happen.. but brutality or excessive force is not really an accident.

When has that ever happened?
Your wife can go missing for a week and they will say she took a vacation.
Your car can get stolen and they will say...sorry but it's gone. And then they start investigating you: "why'd you file a complaint?" "What's going on?" "Do you own a gun?" "Where's your wife?"
"You said she was on vacation."
"We need to book you for suspicion of being suspicious."

It will soon. The protest is Saturday. Family has hired Benjamin Crump, the lawyer that represented the Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin families.
Body cam footage could actually keep it from blowing up. If the use of force is obviously justified, the story will drop like a rock. If it's obvious excessive force it will gain some national traction. Anything in between the media would eat up though. MSM thrives on the kind of conflict it would create. Case in point, Eric Gardner was a clear excessive use and went away quickly relative to the Michael Brown story where waters were much murkier.

It had to be illegal, right? Or did he have a CCP...which would make it legal?
