Interactive map

I'm researching New Hampshire as a future home state and I came across this comparison of the which states are the most free and least free. I'm not sure what you guys know about New Hampshire but the state motto is 'Live Free or Die'. It is said to be the most libertarian state.

I was shocked to find that California and New York are at the bottom of the list. Will the lefties of the board please explain why the two richest states in the Union are the least free?

Come to NH but head for the north country, be prepared for long winters and lots of snow, and buy guns, ammo, and a Harley...

My sister and her husband moved back to Texas from NH (BIL worked in Boston, but they refused to live in Mass, so he commuted).

They enjoyed their 4 years there but were eager to return home.
Little to no diversity in NH.
Winters were awful.
And they were sandwiched between blue states, so NH’s freedom viewpoints were all but moot.
What was considered conservative here was extremist there.

Falls were gorgeous tho.
And lobstah was cheap.

I haven’t read the link but Lord don’t clme to Louisiana. Seriously. Great food. Beautiful lakes. Awesome outdoor activities but don’t move here.

I don’t know how strong their methodology is (as opposed to something well-known like Cato’s Human Freedom Index), but I like that you can’t personalize the rankings to things one values. That’s a good idea for rankings like this.

Most of the states on the top half of this list have better outdoor activities than Louisiana.

So you support my “don’t move here” statement?

I only read a couple examples but Cannabis freedom seems to really elevate a states position.
