All we can hope for is that Thune retires from the senate and runs for SD governor.

Never presume "your" representative works for you. Always be suspicious of them and always vote against incumbents in a primary.

Once these people get to that God-forsaken town, they are bought and they work only for those who bought them their ticket to Camelot. Trump is once again going to find more opposition from the GOP than even the left and we'll never learn.

Can someone explain why this is a bad thing? Not being a smart arse, I have no idea what y’all have been talking about regarding this and genuinely want to know.

It does make one wonder if MM had this all arranged ahead of time if Trump won.

Turtle absolutely arranged this. He tried to push the vote up to avoid the will of the people.

Hard to believe anyone would see that as a more powerful position than this one.

If you like Ukraine war spending you should love Thune. If you want to block or slow walk Trump’s nominees and legislative agenda should should love Thune. Democrats are celebrating.

The only reason this might happen is the wife wants him home closer to the grandkids.

Classic establishment pick. Don't expect any radical changes in how the Senate operates.

This is not a good look, but willing to see if Thune will play ball. Trump has more influence on this now, and he’s chosen not to speak up for a reason.
