Interesting position you are taking. Mocking and acting like this video is normal.

I watched it before it got taken down. I think your conclusion is probably right. I'm guessing they knew what this kid's script was and were patiently trying to help him through it. I find that somewhat unethical, since it is clearly a rehearsed or otherwise patterned response he's giving, and I think they're more than willing to put that on TV as though it was a spontaneous event.

I did find the way the video was edited distracting. As I recall, it starts/stops a lot, so we're probably missing a lot of context

Not avoiding it. I've seen the video. I see a nervous teen stumbling over his words while giving an interview, not some grand conspiracy.

Not sure. Maybe the journalist wants to hear his story to know what questions to ask or whatever.

Just because they did this isn't proof that he was coached on his experience is it?

I do believe many were coached on gun control/NRA boogeyman.

The point is that CNN was advertising his interview as authentic and raw. This is nothing of the sort and is manufactured for a specific narrative.

Was that video the one shown on CNN or was the interview on CNN more polished?

Now do I think this dumb shite wrote them? No because it sounds like the same garbage cnn and everyone else writes

Doesn't he fancy himself a little lefty journalist in the making?

It wouldn't surprise me at all if his own ambition is driving this, rather than someone else. That said, wouldn't be surprised if he was getting help, either.

I think you see that because it's what you want to see. I'm trying to see it, and I can't. Sorry man. If I thought maybe, I'd be right there with ya.

This may come as a surprise, but TV outlets almost always edit their videoed interviews.

I think it's a theater kid being a theater kid, while still trying to present a real world event.

I don't think it's as nefarious as some may be suggesting, but I think it's just a dumb kid who's been trained to present fiction trying to present a story of reality in the same manner he's been conditioned to act, or basically just unable to step out of his acting role.

So help me out. Why should I be outraged

No need to be outraged...IF it is on the up and up.

But, why "rehearse" in that case? If a frightened kid stammered and misspoke his way through telling his story...not harm in that at all. I would have compassion.

But, this "take 1..Take 2....Take 3..." is hilarious.

BTW...I wave almost NO interest in the emotional retelling of an event in the moment. It is ALWAYS just a passion ploy (by the broadcasters). If they are giving some unknown info....fine. But, just to tell how "scary" it was or what needs to be done about it? These are the LAST ones I think should be given much credence. They are too closely involved.

Add to that it is teenagers....UGH. I don't want to listen to composed teens....I damn sure have no need to hear upset teens.
