I'm pretty patterned to reject the claims of Fox and Cpt (and to the extent Cpt is claiming he's a crisis actor I certainly reject that too), but I don't see how you can watch that clip (edited as it is) and see a teenager who is just having trouble to get out his story when the spotlight is on him.

Giving him the most credit I can, he's a theater kid involved in the school's tv/journalism stuff, and perhaps he just takes this very seriously and has thought about how he wanted to frame his story and was crumbling under the pressure.

I think, more likely, it's a step beyond that, though. But I don't think that means he's lying or that this is a conspiracy, I just think it means he's a politically calculating/ambitious teenager using his spotlight to sell himself/an agenda.

but I think it's just a dumb kid who's been trained to present fiction trying to present a story of reality in the same manner he's been conditioned to act, or basically just unable to step out of his acting role.

When these staged kids started bashing the right in other interviews by comparing the shooting to the right's support for unborn children, they have totally stepped into zero sympathy territory and every move they make should be scrutinized since they think they should dictate policy.

You don’t rehearse unplanned remarks.

But, if he's an overly self conscious little shite, it sort of makes sense.

Not usually. But that's not proof of conspiracy. On the other hand, Had he uttered those words the other guy off camera, I would have put my TV on CNN and filled it with .45 steel.

I'm not defending them, but my point is I don't think it's the interviewer writing and feeding him the lines, I think they're his (or his parents'/someone elses') and they just knew what the narrative was which is why they were willing to let him do multiple takes to get it out.

Because CNN or whoever was interviewing wanted the same "wow look at this superstar kid's damning account" as everyone else.

The "conspiracy" is the agenda that he and those encouraging him are trying to push. Not that he is a fake.

He does a couple of takes - what's the big deal? Is this supposed to be conniving or immoral?

If you are talking about the gun control/NRA blame agenda, agree 100%. Anyone can see that.

And in fairness, it may not be much of a conspiracy on that front either

I'm sure super woke 16 year olds are pretty common, particularly in theater departments.

My hope is that some other kids at this school start coming out and telling us about how these were always the political rabble rousers, and the organic upswell is really just a continuation of what they were already doing in the Trump era (which seems to me to be the most likely answer to all of this).

Yeah, the reporter shouldn't have been so willing and complicit in this theater kid doing his theater kid routine, I will say.

Seeing this tape shows you that you aren't really dealing with just a sad kid. You are dealing with a kid that is opportunistic, dancing on graves and being led to push a narrative.

Not necessarily.

But we were fed "OMG look at these courageous shellshocked kids spontaneously speaking truth to power in the aftermath of tragedy!!!" and I just don't think that narrative holds up very well.

Exactly. That was my point. Someone doesnt have to gather thoughts. It comes out raw and unadulterated.

Local news outlets show it the best. People who are authentic may stumble but their emotions from trauma carry them. This kid is a liar. He is rehearsing lines made for him. Total bullshite. I cant believe anyone truly believes this kid is authentic. But then again ignorance abounds.
