Uh, yes it is. At least in industrial applications it usually is.
Uh no……it’s not.

Most interior industrial structural steel is not galvanized.
We’ve been through that. Interior structural steel is less likely to corrode, hence there’s no need.
Find me a piperack or MPS that isn’t galvanized (or painted) and I’ll show you one that’s eventually going to fail.

I’m not going to get in an argument over semantics but the fact is most structural steel used in commercial building is not galvanized and it’s not even close.

Not being exposed to the elements, it doesn’t need to be.
My original post in this thread was merely to correct the assertion that steel “rots”.

Hence the slang term “red iron”. Once underground roughin was complete and slab was poured we left the site while the “red iron” was installed.

Have not read the whole thread so I may have missed something. Only saw this post which is not even close to being correct.

Have you ever designed a piperack or MPS in a corrosive environment?
In a plant environment there is quite a bit more of that steel than there is in buildings.

You would be surprised at what I have designed and built.

Mamdummy is on the scene, folks! Never fear, Super Commie is here!
He is being briefed right now and they're expected to hold a presser on site once he is finished being briefed.

Designed a fricking piperack.?? GTFOOH

I’ll take that as a no.

Give me a bit, guys. I'm brushing up on structural engineering principles so I can get in on the dick measuring contest.

On the live stream right now you can see part of the external steel work completely separating from the rest of the building.

You do that.

A building sitting empty in the middle of Manhattan seems like a massive economic inefficiency
One of my longest-running business partners had a large stake in Manhattan real estate, COVID wrecked his portfolio and I know of many others in similar situations. Remote work and the ubiquity of high speed internet has ruined historically lucrative office real estate in high demand areas.

This BS has to stop! Contractors must be heavily vetted and forced to uphold quality, NOT cut corners in the name of low-cost housing

If the dumbass Democrats wouldn’t have let 30 million people into the country illegally over four years, we probably wouldn’t have a housing crisis
