Maybe this is what Biden meant by a dark winter ahead

We are being told to expect a hiring freeze. We haven’t been able to fill open positions because the applicant pool is mediocre, many don’t even show up for interview.

We’ve seen astronomical growth over past few years, but we all realize 2023 could be tough.

Love to see this same poll over time, starting in the Obama administration to give more context...

Economy is not what Biden says it is regardless...

In the exact same boat. People will apply, phone screen and then no show the interview.

My company sent out voluntary layoff applications to all non-union employees yesterday. Based on my tenure it is tempting to say the least.

I'm ready for it.

People need to learn that who they vote for matters. They will only learn that by hitting them in the bank account.

Prepare yourself to ride it out.

Depending on your ability to either withstand the storm or get a new job via telecommuting, you could be better off taking the package and starting a new job.

This assumes you have skills that are in demand as opposed to making lattes.

Wait, I was told the Inflation Reduction Act would stop all this troubled mess that Drumpf got us involved in!

And the media is burying all of it.

Nothing but popcorn and unicorn farts for all.

In what field, education or social services?

Whatever it is has to be something insulated from reality.

On a positive note, it will give these people more time to learn to code.

Lol.

I’m sure some of the Gen Z and Millennials will be blaming the Boomers for this as well.

Work for a company that has over 50k employees. We have a current hiring freeze and expect to shed 1 in 5 employees by the end of the year. We have also been told that If you are a manager that falls in the bottom 40% of performance, based on feedback by your direct reports, a severance package would be negotiated.

Best economy ever!
