He pled guilty to something that is provable in exchange for charges that aren't necessarily provable against him. Why does everyone think his admission is some trade off for Trump?

I'd think Flynn is trying his best to avoid additional charges against him.

Can't wait for Sarah Huckabee Sanders conference later.

The response from the WH so far has been "We don't have any comment at the moment but we will."

Looks like they learned from the last round of indictments/pleas haha.

That is from a Feb 2017 article.

If we knew he got fired for lying to Pence, why are we acting surprised that he also lied to the FBI?

Is that your intelligent response to my post? Anyone with common sense knows this about trying to deface Trump.

Well I’m certainly not surprised. Am I acting surprised.

But to your point, in these particular circumstances lying to the VP was not a crime. Lying to the FBI was.

It seems that people are making this news out as bad news for Trump. But does it really change anything? This guy lied to Pence/Trump, and he lied to the FBI. One fired him, one charged him. Sounds like justice being done to a bad actor.

He was talking on the phone to the Russian ambassador. The IC was monitors those calls. Flynn is probably on tape. Sally Yates told Trump Flynn was compromised then nothing was done for weeks until the story became public. Meanwhile there are no charges for FARA or the Gulen conspiracy so there's a circumstantial case to be made for Flynn as a state's witness - but the Feds only tend to offer those if they've proferred something worthy on somebody higher on the organizational chart.

So your question is “why does everyone think [Flynn’s] admission is a tradeoff for Trump?” Presumably you meant everyone thinks Flynn is cooperating to implicate Trump.

I responded that I’ve seen one poster assert that this morning—PBhog. And you respond, incredulously, that everyone knows this is about defacing (defaming would work better here) Trump.

I’m not sure I follow. I am doing a few things right now, though.

I think it’s safe to assume that Flynn is/will be cooperating with on aspect(s) of this investigation going forward, if you’re looking to pin me down on something.

Flynn was slam dunk guilty and is getting off with almost nothing, and so far his son seems to be clear too. This is about as close to immunity as he was going to get.

Trump seems to have made a big effort to keep Flynn on side. Much more than Manafort. Why?

The lack of FARA charge and the news last week of no more cooperation with Trump’s lawyers is a strong suggestion he’s turned state’s evidence.
