Recent endorsements for US Senate? Which ones? This is an honest question. Because I don’t believe it’s accurate.

I think you’re way too easily swayed by the idea that Fleming was blocked to speak to Trump. How weak does a wealthy, 75 year old man who regularly touts his work in the Trump administration have to be to be “blocked from speaking with Trump?”

Answer these questions. Well…at least the first questions.

I remember when the filibuster was all that stood between dems and their radical policies.

Which ones?

Do you suppose there are any that wouldn’t have ultimately been catastrophic for them politically?

By the way, are any of Fleming’s opponents “committing to nuking the filibuster”?

I do not like the results RIGHT NOW.

Do you honestly think Letlow will nuke the filibuster? I don’t think there is a woman in the senate that will.

I believe Fleming will at least honestly consider it.

I don't know if she will, but I do know that I now doubt HE will. And he's the one that made me believe that. When politicians won't speak plainly, they are lying to you.

He's not trustworthy.

Expanded nationwide mail-in votes through the 'voting rights act' was a big one. Feminist 'equal pay' laws and the Jan. 6 committee were others.

Well, if they'd have gotten that first one, the rest likely wouldn't matter.

Perhaps.

I’m certainly not all in on “nuking the filibuster” but I think there is a worthy discussion to be had given how uselessly neutered Congress has become.

Speaking filibuster is pretty dumb. I get the appeal, but requiring US senators to waste their time to exercise their procedural rights is just that: a waste of time and resources.

Won’t change a thing. Pretty juvenile when you think about it.

Nuking the filibuster is such a dumb populist move. Shows how populists are so close to leftist progressives.

Screw institutional norms! Give me small temporary victories that lead to massively unstable govt!

The way they are doing it now is unconstitutional. Show me in the Constitution where it takes 60 votes to pass a bill. They need to debate, then vote. 51 wins.

Keep worrying about what they might do while you hand congress back to them.

This is all that needs to be done, Senate Republicans just refuse to do it. I’m with those who think nuking it could be dangerous for the future.

It’s not dangerous. The constitution doesn’t require it, you need 51 votes to pass legislation.

I think the filibuster is a huge problem today. We are stuck with shitty govt that deficit spends like crazy and no meaningful legislation can pass to fix anything because nobody ever has 60 votes. It would be great if we had good government and didn’t want to ruin that, but it’s not the case.

Get rid of it and pass legislation to fix this country and hope it’s popular enough that we don’t elect the loons on the left. The left will eventually get rid of it anyways and when they do we are fricked so might as well do it now and pass things like the Save act and hope that prevents the loons from winning

I agree, the filibuster should go.

The filibuster is currently preventing Congress from doing its job. This is then used to excuse POTUS (not just Trump, any POTUS) for going around Congress and grabbing more power for themselves.

Congress is the voice of the people, and the states, and should be rhe governing body making the decisions.

frick you.

In a couple of months you will be whining about Trump not getting something done because someone you are calling a puppet now will disagree with him then.

The left is completely Marxist at this point and won't hesitate to do whatever they need to do in the future. We have passed the line if civility and honor in Washington. Nuke it or get nuked.
