I hope they shut it down. Give this generation a chance to see that it doesn’t effect their daily lives. It’s a fear tactic the left has used for at least 30 years now. If republicans stopped going along with it maybe we could start fixing some of our issues.

Giving up lol Chuck Schumer controls the Senate and Biden is President

And? You put it out there and make them oppose it, then hang them with that opposition.

not to mention there are dozens of useless Republicans in the House

Same thing.

being pragmatic isn’t giving up. It’s working with what you have.

In this, it's exactly giving up. Calling it pragmatism is just putting a softer label on the McCain philosophy of "go along to get along", which itself is a softer phrasing of "roll over and show your belly if the other side pushes back enough and ignore that they don't reciprocate". It's how they get Obamacare, DACA and essentially open borders while we get dithering, in-fighting and are now actually arguing their case for them in beginning to institute what would essentially be MMT.

The GOP need to realize a few things - 1. MAGA isn’t a conservative movement - it’s a populist movement made up of ex democrats (conservatism was a complete failure)

2. The GOP doesn’t understand who they are messing with when it comes to Elon. They buck him at their peril.

3. I pray to god that Trump does everything he can to actually become a dictator for a while so shite can actually get done.

4. The GOP party is dead once Trump is gone and should be.

A bill with less pork just failed in the House much less made its way to the Senate, what did that solve other than assuage a few faux conservatives in the House? A bill actually cutting spending wouldn’t make it out of a Republican controlled House that will have a two vote majority in two weeks

What it did was show the American people that the GOP is our enemy.

They think they are smarter and know more than an average X poster and they are mistaken.

I hope the government will shut down so people will see how unnecessary it is in our lives.

And would have suspended the debt ceiling for two years. You might as well put a recovering heroin addict in charge of the morphine locker and let them know they can use as much as they want for the next two years.

It's exposed how little people seem to actually understand or care about the debt issue.

I agree, but you put it out there anyway and you hang those against it in the court of public opinion, then primary the frick out of them. Many in Congress aren't going to change without the penalty of consequences for continuing to perform poorly.

There is a scathing report that just came out about Biden and his term as president and it is very very damaging to the entire democrat party so you can just frick off with your stupid “Trump Failed” comment

I see it as being more proactive to not deal with something he knows will be a bump in the road less than 6months after he starts.

Raise the roof and fix all the issues under it to not get close to hitting it again.

What needs to happen is a balanced budget amendment, but no one wants to talk about that as long as their favorite party and/or politician is advocating for limitless spending restraints.

Can't wait for Jill's tell-all book. She stands to make a fortune giving up the goods, or die suddenly before it is published, one or the other.

Hes not the president yet. There is no fail on him

But you and the other Ronbois sure are looking like bitter buttboys now that Trump has proven that you guys have no clue how the electorate works

So pardon us if, once again, we're not taking your hot take on this

Sounds like the debt ceiling has worked at least twice this week.

He would just blame it on the Rs. We already know what he would say.

trump killed the first CR. that was important. it would have passed because democrats were voting for it. the second didn't pass because democrats voted against it. they could have passed the first CR because biden would have signed it. they were scared of trump/musk. johnson should never have negotiated such a bad bill.
