From the aerial view it would be hard to distinguish a hiker from a bad guy with limited views through tree cover or outcroppings etc. Is that hard to understand?
Yes, if approached by a ground team of course a hiker would comply.

Nah you stated it would "thin out at night" in reference to civilians but that's not the case if a hiker is scared as hell trying to hide behind a rock. I just stated they would be hard to differentiate from the air.
You were the one bringing up the aerating like someone was even talking about indiscriminately eliminating targets. I have been one of the few posting actual information in this thread.

But if the plan was to pretend to be hikers, it would be tough, if there was enough distance/time, to tell (assuming they took the proper precautions as part of the plan)

Survivalist and Doomsday whack jobs. Sheriff said an accelerateed amount of rounds were fired...he called them modern day sporting rifles. There are Campers and Hikers stuck on the mountain, and may take days to reach them all.

Makes no sense. One of the call I heard played back the guy said "everybody up there was shot" and another said they had at least 4 shot. Some unconfirmed reports say 9 have been shot.
