I’m suggesting it’s all part of the same agenda. Not that it’s one and not the other.

You would think they might be able to come up with a reason not to extend a bid …

In my fraternity, it only took one "nay" to deny it. The naysayer would have to explain his reason to the President of the chapter. The President could overrule one "no" vote; however, if that person got just one dude to back his play, it was over. Not even the President could override 2 votes.

Was in a fraternity but was pretty apathetic about it. But I found most people who said something like this were bitter and probably would need to rent a friend.

Yeah, but that's like the whole "Tariffs are to even out trade imbalances" vs "tariffs are to bring manufacturing back here." Both can't happen. If one does, the other won't.

In this case (as it was originally framed, anyway...it now looks like an totally different case), the LGBTQs only win if the sorority accepts the member; they lose if the sorority shuts down.

Speaking for GDI, we don't want him, either.

This will eventually go to SCOTUS and be struck down.

Yeah SCOTUS already ruled on this with the Boy Scouts years ago, and said the "Right of Association" also include "Right of disassociation". in that private organizations can exclude people they don't want.

Boy Scouts did not have to allow gays in the troops but they caved to social pressure.

That makes sense in the context of the fact that it appears that this case is not framed correctly.

It appears that individual members of the sorority brought the lawsuit, not the sorority, and they individuals brought it against the sorority.

And the judge ruled that the sorority could decide for themselves who to accept or not, and the sorority is the one who let the guy stay.

So that makes sense. That judge's was ruling consistent with the case you mentioned.

How long before one of the girls gets raped, or finds herself nude online because the perv was filming them?

I would love anyone who thinks (leftists) this ruling is correct, please explain how this is OK.

Was mostly a nod to Ags of a certain age. One of the more notorious dorms on campus used to sell a T-shirt that said “Rent a Friend. Join a Frat.”

It’s a private membership organization and subject to a vote of the current membership to issue bids to new members and to initiate them.

The court is saying that they MUST issue a bid and initiate someone they don’t want?

Kappa Kappa Gamma's national office did this - they updated their membership standards to read "open to women and those who identify as women."

OK, that makes some sense of this situation. Otherwise, this ruling is, pardon the pun, way out of left field.

If the national orgs persist in their insistence, expect membership in those organizations to shrink dramatically.

I'm sure one of the girls' boyfriends will pay him a visit if he tries anything. If not, he doesn't deserve her. or maybe he is a lefty and sees no problem.

That is what I was thinking. Don't all the girls in the sorority have to approve his joining?

So they pledge. Don't pick them. Eazy, peazy! See how much money "it" has when they sue. Surely the national would help them out. Missing the point, I know but this has to be fought some time.

Hell, maybe this becomes a cautionary lesson in organizations like this thinking they have to kowtow virtue signal to every progressive pet cause du jour.
