Without a request from the President there’s no reason for the raid. The predicate of the raid is that the current President needed access to the documents in the possession of Trump in order to effectively serve as President.

All this shows is that Biden requested documents in May, Trump asked for a one week extension to review AC privilege, that request was granted, and Trump produced the docs a week later.
So the administration knew, and had no issues with these documents being in Trump's possession at least as far back as May.
One month later, they got a grand jury subpoena to go in and take documents, which Trump complied.
So where is the justification for the raid in August? Was it all predicated on a "whistle blower", whose tip came up empty? I hope, for their sakes, they had more than that.

Keep in mind that the documents referenced in the link are not the same ones from January or even June.
It appears Biden requested other documents in May and Trump handed them over.

as I read this again, there seems to be a pretty comprehensive effort to get access to everything Trump had. I wonder why the FBI, NARA, the DOJ, and the WH were ALL fighting for 8 months to get their hands on Trump's records?
