Just went to the r/fednews subreddit to see how the people there are reacting to the devastating news that they have to go to their job. It's honestly worth a visit to revel in the misery of some truly shitty people.

quote:

We've been doom scrolling enough and I know we're all on pins and needles about this week, so I want to offer space for positive, practical things we can do to stay sane.

-Find control where you can. Take a sick day or a leave day if it's too overwhelming. I've heard people thinking of taking their lives and your life is worth more than a million hate filled magas.

-Our supervisors are having a hard time too. They aren't all the enemy. Give the good ones grace and patience and come up with a plan. The division isn't at this level. Those who hate us are the at the top.

-Find unity with people on your team or office who you trust on a personal level and help each other out where you can. Cover a meeting for a struggling coworker. Anything small.

Our main goal should be to preserve our mental health, fight any and all we can but remain unified and supportive. This a marathon.

I don't have it all figured out but I believe in the people here and what we do. We must send the message that us Public Servants Will Stand United.

The Federal government hires enough people to operate. The rest are LOPS (Lazy Ole' Pieces of shite) But if they didn't have a job, they would be home eating Cheetos and watching soap operas.

It's just another form of welfare. At least this way, they have to wake up, get cleaned up(questionable) and show up at an appointed place at an appointed time.

USA needs to create a mental health assistance industry for these poor people that have to go to work.

I'll never take it for granted now, that I wake up every morning, handle my hygiene, get dressed and go to work; all that without any mental breakdowns. Never understood how lucky I am.

The federal Bureaucracy must be broken from the roots.

Would be interesting if there was anyway to find out which Govt. Agencies' employees are bitching the most. Guessing the State Dept. & IRS employees are in the top 4-5.

I would say the preservation of mental health left the conversation a while ago.

Take your arse to work

Thats why they are working for the federal government - Private sector, even fortune 500s, don't put up with the kind of entitlement and laziness that they have.

Everything is about mental health and they have none.

Its very confusing.

They need to get outside more.

With their frustrations of working in an actual workplace coupled with their baseline mental illness, they will lash out at perceived MAGA supporters at every chance possible in their employment.

I would bet the house that the Department of Education is at the top of the list. You just know that place was the Holy Grail of workplaces for the DEI set. I know many teachers, and they are the worst of the worst when it comes to wokeness.

Honestly if you read the suggestions they are very good for coping with things you disagree with.

Give grace. Take a day off. Find unity. Definitely don't take your own life. Cover for a struggling coworker.

These are all great ideas for coping with unwanted change because eventually they help you accept the change and move on rather than continue to be a petulant child about going to the office to do the job you are paid to do.

Imagine if the mainstream news did this 2016-2020, we would be in a different world.

I agree. They can remain unified and supportive in their offices or in the unemployment line. Their choice.

My wife (no pics) must be 5'4" of lean, mean, and tough.

She spent 30 years with the DoD. Worked in 3 different states, 3 stints in foreign countries, and ZERO (0) days working from home.

Reading these comments from Fed employess. I'm scared of her now.

When DHS secretary Mayorkas used to give out lots of admin leave before each Federal holiday, people would go nuts in that sub reddit.

Based on what I've seen it's a bunch of remote DC telework folk that work for DHS or DoD or SSA in IT or acquisition or HR jobs

It's definitely a sub section of Fed employees
