We are about to find out and they are worried!

quote:

The FBI has reportedly been working in recent weeks to soften the blow if the identity of a top-secret informant who fed information to investigators early on in the Russia probe is revealed.

The Washington Post reported on Thursday that FBI officials have been taking steps to reduce the potential damage to other investigations the informant is involved in and protect associates, in the event that the source is outed.

The scramble to mitigate the potential harm comes as allies of President Trump hone in on the informant's role in the investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

It's too late ... Sara Carter already knows. She's been hinting at his initials for three days now and she's chomping at the bit to let it out. She says it is someone familiar to everyone.

I still think all of this is just the tip of the iceberg too.

Why the wait then? If she really knows who it is and has it nailed down why risk not being the first person to confirm/report the details? Typically journalists don't want to get scooped by someone else.

As it was explained on Fox while interviewing her I sounded as if she sticks strictly to the rules when it comes to vetting a story and, in this case where so much is on the line, she intends to do her due diligence. But it's expected that'll she'll do a piece on it any day now.

She's going to find she's gonna be hit with a shitstorm once it does though. They'll come after her source and her. She didn't flinch when presented with that probable reality.

bullshite.

They are scrambling around trying to figure out a way to justify the future existence of the FBI. At a minimum, whole sections within the FBI need to be closed down.

OK,so how can the FBI come out and say this publicly, then expect anybody to be fooled by their fixing?

That's all bull shite. They are just trying to form a narrative, that the public shouldn't be informed of everything.

That's probably an issue, if not in this particular case, it kinda matters for anyone else who would cooperate with the government.

Is this what Carter is waiting on? Will she not publish at all because of this?

Oh, it's real.

The dispute pits Trump and the Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee against the Justice Department and intelligence agencies, whose leaders warn that publicly identifying the confidential source would put lives in danger and imperil other operations.

The stakes are so high that the FBI has been working over the past two weeks to mitigate the potential damage if the source’s identity is revealed, according to several people familiar with the matter. The bureau is taking steps to protect other live investigations that the person has worked on, and trying to lessen any danger to associates if the informant’s identity becomes known, said these people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence operations.

The lives of him, Brennan, McCabe, Hillary, Obama...

Pretty much all the conspirators would either be expected to go up on treason charges or the mobs with the pitchforks would go after them.
