No this is not true. The FBI actively recruits new special agents on the college campuses Most special agents ARE NOT former military.
The main candidate used to be an accounting major. My wife is an accountant (CPA) and she had an FBI special agent visit one of her accounting classes when she was a student to talk about a career in the bureau.

Not "a lot". I would so neither "a lot" or "most" are former military. Some are. There used to be a Youtube video following some special agent recruits through training at the academy in Quantico. This was made in the last 5 years or so.
The candidates were:
A police officer
A Chinese man who could barely speak English
A fat woman who didn't make it because she couldn't pass the PT requirements..how did she even qualify???
A small female in her early 30s with a life dream of being a federal agent
A hispanic female
All made it with the exception of the woman who couldn't pass PT

The Radical Leftist Totalitarian Regime requires perfect political indoctrination of all of its operatives. When one unit is identified as less than perfect, it will be culled and discarded. If the unit protests, then Der Staat will commence retaliatory punitive and adverse consequences upon the traitorous unit and its family.

Really? Literally every officer in my intel unit post deployment, myself included, got recruited by the three letter groups. We all had top secret clearances and were trained intel analysts. Cool story about your wife though
