He is right. 90% or more are asymptomatic. It is a complete waste of time to try and possibly find 10% or less of the infected people.

This is true, but when offloading 500+ school kids in a car line, it's worth the 3 seconds it takes to possibly identify a child with a fever and not allow him to mix with the others. It's not a silver bullet, but it's not "useless" either.

People can have temperatures for reasons other than COVID and many if not most COVID victims are asymptomatic. So yeah, temperature checks aren't going to be very reliable in diagnosing COVID.

its not that the temps are inaccurate...its that its not really a consistent symptom with covid.....Ive had it, my wife had it my mother had it and i know a few others that have had the virus.....nobody ran fever

I mean I could’ve told you that 4 months ago when half the people I was checking (worked the door when patient load was down) were reading 95.8

My buddy is a PA at a Baton Rouge urgent care. He said the vast majority of patients they’ve seen who test positive for Covid don’t have high temperatures. The loss of taste and smell has been the most common symptom.

My son plays high school football. Temp check as he gets out of the truck before practice...he's around 96 every day due to the A/C. It's sensing your skin, not your actual temp.
Son's friend works in a restaurant kitchen and his temp was 102 (hot kitchen). Had no real fever.
