The problem is that he's an epidemiologist. Nothing more. He's not an economist, he's not a poltician. He's not an educator or a psychologist...he isn't qualified to speak about the consequences of closing schools, for example. People shouldn't treat him like he is, and he shouldn't comment about anything other than the spread and the treatment of the disease.
His point was basically that even if you've been vaccinated, they don't know yet if you could still have particles of the virus in your nasal cavities and could spread them. He's saying the vaccine may be protecting you, but they don't yet know if you could still spread it. While technically that may be true, and that's why he wants people to keep wearing a mask, once we get to the point where all Americans have had the opportunity to be vaccinated, the responsibility for one's health falls on each individual citizen. You can have 100,000 people in BDS in November to watch Alabama-LSU...and I'll be there. Any fans concerned about getting COVID should either get vaccinated or stay home. It's that simple.
