Of all the crap that comes up these days, this might be the dumbest.
1. This hand gesture is and has been one of the most widely used forms of hand communication for many many years. Thumbs up and middle finger are only ones I can think of used more.
2. It would be the interesting to find the origin of this BS. I bet it is someone who graduated with a worthless college degree that now claims to be a journalist.
3. It's used for various things all over every race. Every picture from Adidas sponsored 7v7 or basketball teams somebody is using the gesture.
Universal should call it stupid and then proceed with trying to break the lawyers that took this on.

The reason given by most was they had no interest in having a ball thrown at them that hard! Always used to make us laugh... We did have an underclassmen black guy play with us my senior year in '88 but he did not play legion ball that summer, and this was mostly a legion thing as I recall. Spent more time together in the summer than we did in the Spring and were always looking to kill time.

I though it was guys fricking around on 4Chan who literally started it as a hoax to see if idiots would run with it. Completely made up out of whole cloth as bait to see who was dumb enough to buy it.
Little did they know, not only would idiots pick it up and run with it, but since they control virtually all of information, they somehow made it "real" in that even though they KNOW it was a hoax, it's now useful to tar people with who are doubling down with it as a joke.

That is a great story! I doubt that Universal provides any offer of payment given the backstory and acceptance of the signal
