Great program with experts from Argentina, UK, and US.

-1st Falklands War: 70 Brits v 10k Argentinians initially. Now, Britain has a well-armed garrison.
-Argentine navy hasn't been rebuilt since War
-Article V NATO mutual defense doesn't apply to overseas territories
-President Milie's hero is Margaret Thatcher

It may not come to a fight. If you've noticed, the US is alienating Britain on every front right now. This may end up being as simple as, "Argentina says they're taking the islands and you're not gonna do a frickin' thing to stop them."

Let's not forget that the UK has funds tied up giving radical Muslims free everything.

Let's also not forget that Donald Trump let King Charles know that payments for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz would no longer be coming to London.

UK: Dear Argentina, it's really not a good time for us right now. Please be nice?

I agree that Trump is trying to alienate the Brits.
Demanding that they abandon territory that has been British (without any Argentine presence) for 200 years is a bridge too far.

I found it interesting that Donald Trump inspected the troops in Ireland while over there. By himself.

The British force that's already in place in the Falklands is probably sufficient to repel whatever Argentina could throw at them.

Now...maybe in 5 years.....

Britain cannot control their borders in Europe, maybe control in South America would be a bridge to far

Wait, you think the UK can defend the Falklands, let alone anything else?
CDR Salamander and this Substack already went into it.

quote:

On the 2nd of April, 1982, Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands. As a response, the United Kingdom assembled a fleet of more than 120 warships, including 65 commissioned ships (warships in active service), to travel 8,000 miles and liberate the Falklands, which it did in 74 days. As of December 2025, the entire Royal Navy comprises 63 commissioned ships.

According to the First Sea Lord General Sir Gwyn Jenkins, today’s Royal Navy is not ready for war. This will not come as a big surprise to anyone familiar with what has been commonly dubbed the “managed decline” of the Royal Navy. A fleet that once commanded over 1,400 vessels at the start of the Second World War now has no presence between Gibraltar and Singapore for the first time in centuries.

When Trump asked for help on Iran...
My C+P thought...Trump will respond in kind. He does hold a grudge and enjoys the pay back, I wouldn't blame him or disagree with this response.

quote:

Prime Minister Keir Starmer explicitly stated the UK would not join offensive action and was not going to be "dragged into this war."
This refusal to participate in the wider offensive campaign led to significant diplomatic tension, with Donald Trump publicly criticizing Starmer as "no Winston Churchill" and suggesting the US would not back the UK in a potential conflict over the Falkland Islands.

Would not need to. Simply telling them not to interfere would be enough.

I don't have a strong opinion about it, so I defer to experts...such as the ones featured in the video I recommended.

After informing myself, I think the Brits could absolutely defend the Falklands against the currently weak military of Argentina. Sure, that calculation might change in a few years.

Could the Brits repel a South Korean invasion? I would be interested in what experts had to say about that.

Interfer with WHAT? Those are all current, established European territories in the Western Hemisphere.

The brits would do a much better job defending the Falklands than they currently are doing defending their homeland

The UK doesn't need the backing of the US to prevail in a conflict over the Falklands within the next few years.

Of course, if Trump's feelings are hurt enough to attack the Falklands, that would settle the matter in favor of Argentina.

Not arguing that. The culture of the Falklands is homogeneous and very proudly British.
