I think they think that if they're going to escape the primaries it's evolved into something they have to support.

Biden won't. Which is why I think he or another moderate (e.g. Klobuchar) will actually pull it off.

If he doesn't, the eventual nominee is buried. If the GND as proposed was more narrow in scope maybe it'd be tolerable. In this form it's going to provide Trump - for all his personal faults - endless ammo.
