What a bizarre thread

It never ceases to amaze me what otherwise intelligent, educated adults are capable of believing

They say that "mana" from heaven was basically a machine that produced some sort of algae that could be made into bread too.

I know this is a little off-topic, but there's a valley out there somewhere that aphids produce a substance very similar to manna to this day. It's not always that there's no evidence. There's lots of uncomfortable things academics just bury because science.

There is a great episode of Expedition Unknown about the Ethiopian Ark and the island that it is kept on.

Indeed. Atheism is self-contradictory, yet there is a following anyway.

I would say that if you live on the other side of the world and you are required by your faith to go to Saudi Arabia to place your hands on a rock that yes, you are worshiping that rock. They believe it has the power to absolve them of all their sins and cause them to become enlightened. Yes, they worship it.

It's kinda like how Christians believe that Jesus has the power to absolve them of all their sins. Christians worship Jesus for the same reason.

It's a good thing that they're not required (nor are they allowed) to place their hands on the rock.

No, they really don't.

No, Christians believe that Jesus is a part of the Trinity - a part of God.

A rock is not part of Allah.

Okay, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. That explains it.

Weird. Well, Muslims literally believe that God has the power to absolve them of their sins, so I guess they worship God.

How so? Do you really believe that everyone is allowed in the Kaaba to touch the stone? Is that what you believe?

I'm on a work computer, Susan. It's obviously blocked for me.

ETA: Just looked on my phone. They're touching the Kaaba. Not the stone that's inside. Again, very few people are allowed inside the Kaaba. Thanks for playing. Try again.

course not, but I would hope freed slaves who were in the construction business could do better than hollowing out a log to carry broken tablets sent down from God and Aaron's rod.

It was described as a wooden chest plated with gold and a lid with 2 seraphim on top facing each other. I would think the gold plating would be intact wherever it was found so if it’s just some old wood, it’s likely not the ark
