Amendment blocks $15 min wage during a pandemic.

Vote was passed after Bernie didn’t object because he said his plan was always to get to $15 gradually over 5 years.

5 years? So in other words they want to use the same promises in the next election. The puppets that vote for them will fall for it again.

Why not? The $2k check promises won them GA and in turn the Senate...they didn’t even have to resort to their fraud game plan either...that we know of.

Yep. The democrats are adept at using Bait and Switch (B&S). Their supporters fall for that routine every time. They lie to the voters, get elected on B&S....and win. Then they implement B&S and their voters get all flustered and stuff. The $2000 stimulus payment fiasco is an example of that B&S scheme. It's actually funny when you think about it.

But it doesn't end there. They pulled Bait & Switch on the so-called "LockBox" Social Security Trust Fund as well. Basically turned it into a Ponzi Scheme. I know I was there, I watched them do it. So now S/S is living on borrowed time.....and printed money. I recall our pal Joe Xiden was part of the posse who stool that fund.

People bitch and complain.....then turn around and send these crooks right back to Washington, AND they vote them in the Oval Office as well. If it wasn't so sad I'd laugh.

In five years, everyone will he paying $15/hr anyway and they’ll promise $20/hr.

“Have you tried supporting a family of four on $31,200?”

And the Republicans don't?

15 of the last 19 Supreme Court Justices have been appointed by Republicans. Remind me, when did abortion end?

My reply would be to be responsible and don’t have 4 kids if you know that’ll be your income range. You can control your ability to have kids.

If one is dependent on the other, this is brilliant.

Open the economy and we’ll talk astronomical wages.

Hypothetical question #1: Does this mean they could pass it next year, then there is a new Senate/House in 2023 that could reverse/end the bill

Hypothetical question #2: Could a new President in 2025 end it with an EO; although it would already be 3 years into the plan.

I don't think we are rrally that far away from $15/hour now.

The local McDonalds has a sign saying their wages start at $11 an hour. That's a job a 16 year old kid could get with no working experience.

Actually, this helps Bernie Sanders.

Because other text exist in the bill that talks of the minimum wage, he can now text that makes it by 2025.

This was a win for communism, we are FRICKED!

By 2025, even less people will be making $7.25, and it will be another bait and switch by Democrats that effects very little. All negative, of course, where it does apply.

But, that's the way it is suppose to work. The free market should determine the minimum wages. If a fast food company or big box retailer wants to pay $12/hr; then job seekers can decide if they want to work for them at those rates or work for other companies that may start at $8/hr but gives them 40+ hours a week and access to benefits.

And when employers who pay below those companies cannot get decent workers for their wages; they get to decide if they want to increase their entry level pay.

Edit: By doing it this way will also factor in the fact that minimum wage in NOLA should not equal minimum wage in NY or the West Coast.

You realize that this doesn't mean that 15 min wage won't be in the final bill right....these amendments were non-binding.

Bernie could still slip it back in there before the final vote on the actual bill.....and it can pass with a simple majority because reconciliation was adopted last night.
