Desantis just needs to be selected VP or simply wait Trump out to be president in 2028. Trying to be president immediately through the 2024 election isn't the best play for him, imo.

There is no definition that has been posted for “establishment” that doesn’t make Trump its poster-child.
Maybe DeSamtis would end up the same. Maybe not. There’s nothing in his record that makes it certain. But there’s plenty in Trump’s record as president that makes him either in with the establishment, or it’s stooge.

Um, the Democrats don't feat Trump. They want him as an opponent. They know indicting him crystallizes MAGA type support. That pushes out any hal way sane Republicans.
They know its overall easier than having someone who could build up an organization and garner RNC full support and bring the donor class back in.
