I think that's how it works Drac.
People pick and choose and not everyone agrees with the Constitution in it's entirety. Many try to shape it to the current political thoughts of the day. It's why it's the best document ever written since the TC.

Keep up man. Listen to Tulsi. She speaks the truth.
I once would object to the foolish claim that the USA was "The Great Satan". Then I watched as the Deep State destroyed Saddam leaving the Middle East smoldering.
Left Billions of dollars of equipment in Afghanistan. We blamed Biden for mismanagement.
Then I learned that we are still sending millions of dollars to Afghanistan to teach the "Peasant Women' how to weave rugs.

I know right? I mean, who doesn’t want their taxes going to fund terrorist groups?

It's insane you're defending the madness that's been uncovered.
Posted on 2/1/25 at 12:31 pm to John Barron
They will suggest it was to fight the REAL terrorist groups WE SHOULD be worried about.
Cut it all off and let them figure it out and since they haven’t for 1000’s of years already I’m guessing they won’t.

At the very least, DOGE has exposed some government employees that literally do nothing.

If Congress appropriates it doesn’t really matter if Elon Musk personally doesn’t agree.
This is basic stuff. Either you believe in the constitution and separation of powers or you dont. Sounds like a fair bit of you don’t.

So my question is for this $1250 coffee cup, and all the other similar stuff, where does the money really go? stopping the waste is step one, but they need to follow the trail and prosecute the people benefiting from this thievery.

It’s incredible that you think Treasury’s payments in question are 100% explicitly delegated by Congress.
It’s also incredible that you think Treasury should have no safeguards in place in disbursement of funds.
I mean, not really. You’re just shitting out political arguments.

If it's obviously unconstitutional it will be stopped.
Great piece of paper.

Of course. Just like the $500 hammers and toilet seats in the 80s. I'm sure someone's brother-in-law owns the distribution company for the paper cups or something similar.

I said quite the opposite actually, go back to the beginning of the thread and try not to skip over things.

You seem much more concerned about whether Elon should be doing this than the potential billions of fraud and waste occurring throughout govt. with our tax dollars.
So this being brought to light and having the involved parties defend or fight to continue these payments is bad how exactly?

If they are not explicitly directed by Congress, then there’s no Constitutional problem with changing their disbursement.
Even if they are explicitly directed by Congress, you’re getting apoplectic about examining the system of disbursement.
So you’re arguing about what?

it’s not at all clear he has (or could get due to his admitted drug abuse) clearance to view things such as payments to witness protection program participants.
Why do idiots keep parroting this clearance nonsense? Elon Musk’s list of “read-ons” is longer than anyone you know. He could not be in the positions he’s in and domains that he is a part of with his companies without read-on and clearances.

I think the government waste argument is cover for Elon to gain a lot of privileged information he can use against competitors. That’s crony capitalism which i thought this board was against.
Put someone without so many conflicts of interest forward to actually root out waste and abuse in a constitutional way and that’s fine
