One of my best friends has one of these jobs you speak of. She often talks about what a waste her job is and often feels guilty because of the structure. She’s also tried to save the VA millions of dollars by showing them wasteful spending and they pat her on the head and tell her to shut up and color.

That is a terribly coded site but I'm on my phone. I can get more if you need more.

The Supreme Court has held that federal employment is Constitutionally protected property, meaning that it cannot be taken away without due process. At a minimum, before taking an adverse action like termination, an agency must issue a notice to the employee identifying the charge(s) against them. The employee has the right to see the evidence against them and the right to reply to the charge(s), as well as the right to have counsel represent them. If you are terminated because of making speech protected by the first amendment, whistleblowing, or refusing to comply with an illegal order, you will also be able to bring these claims through appropriate channels.

All regulations need to be sunset and subject to review.

I'm not deflecting. I'm responding directly to the thread

You attack “the plan”. This lays the groundwork for your foundation of misinformation. The plan is racist. The plan is fascist. The plan is misogynistic.

I never said any of this.

There are statutory, regulatory, and Constitutional protections on these jobs. That's what I said.

It’s much easier to attack the plan than to defend the performance record and roi of our federal workforce.

THIS is a deflection

Theoretically possible but you'd need an act of Congress for each law authorizing each regulation

Possibly achievable but it will take a while

It’s a bit of gamesmanship since the libs love to manipulate stats like unemployment and GDP type things when things look bad for them.

It’s framed up as we took a big turn so we need more accurate honest reporting. It’s too easy currently for Dems to hide that almost all job growth which they always seem to over estimate didn’t occur with full time jobs in the primate sector. It was gov employees, and part time jobs mostly taken by illegals.

Hopefully with a free flow of information on X and generations down stream from boomers not believing the spoon fed lies from the msm we can get to a point where we have honest reporting and numbers.

I see no reason why people aren’t capable of reading and digesting the numbers if they have easy access to them.

It’s the same concept at work, I can learn an absolute baseline about anything we do thanks to the internet and the ability to search and read. Sadly I don’t think our school system is setting up the younger generations to harness the full power of what we all have at our fingertips.

They should not be paid a blanket year or two of severance pay. Should depend on how many years they worked.

The 87k IRS agents are the lowest of the barrel in the tax world. Very few of them would survive at a public firm or any major company.

A few of them would probably get cushy jobs at the top of major firms to essentially be used as relationships with the remaining by parts of the department.

I'm not a bean counter, I am a behavioralist.

Two years severance will render many people incapable of employment.

One of the best results of that would be they'd have to move out of the DC area - they cannot live there on what they can earn in a competitive society.

At last, Virginia may return to a winnable state for conservatives.

Next step I'd want is to decentralize the entire govt. Remove all unnecessary agencies and those that survive be centered close to the various areas of their responsibility, not Washington DC.

This incestuous situation in DC is giving birth to a whole lot of inferior off-spring.

Right.

Some person hired two years ago will hit the gold mine under Elons plan.

Unless the economy is really roaring then companies will ignore that. The thing they won’t have going for them is age and spending an entire career in something that is useless.

If I need someone that can cut through tape and has relationships I’d probably want a ex gov employee.

If I need someone to be a good soldier and do the job with efficiency and commitment give me a intern and I can make them an animal.
