To be fair neither do I.

I don't trust NYT specifics, but I sure do pay attention since they're a propaganda outlet for the Spooks.

It means something, just not always what they claim.

Are people conflating a buyout payment clause they had with the former board, with their shares? I've never heard anyone describe the proceeds from the sale of stock as a golden parachute.

I can't read the article so not sure if this was clarified.

If it was an additional bonus, what obligations does Elon have to honor a contract he was not a party to?

Me neither. To me a golden parachute is more of something given but not earned at all. Shares isn’t that

Someone recap how this went down please. Elon decided not to go to court but torches them anyway? How much money did Elon save by doing this?

This is hilarious!!

Awwww, Elon going after serial criminals just because he likes to frick with people. How sad. You do know that’s what these cocksuckers did for a living, right?

Safe to assume that Musk & his high powered attys know what they are doing, right? When it comes to business transactions, Musk never just fires from the hip, takes wild shots. Perhaps this is a ploy to open the door to negotiated settlements with each? Take less & I'll drop these accusations?

The OP is saying they would walk away with nothing correct? 8.5 million of Argwals payout is shares. Some of the other fired officers had over 20 million in shares. The rest is advanced comp and healthcare premiums etc. So is OP not correct? Hmmm

In the super-charged universe of Silicon Valley M&A activity, the language governing change-of-control provisions for terminated executive's compensation will be fairly standard and clear cut. The executives have lawyers too, and that contract language will be more or less airtight.

Musk has a very high bar to clear when invoking a "for cause" showing to deny the fired executives the compensation he agreed to at closing.

If you're an attorney (I'm not) with access to the controlling legal documents in this case, you'd have a basis to judge the probability of the eventual outcome.

The affected executives will say "see you in court" where they're very likely to prevail. I'm sure with Musk's money that could drag out for years, and perhaps is his goal.

I read OP and only see a snippet from an article saying Musk does not intend to pay bonuses. And a laughing gif.

Am I missing something? I only see you assuming that means Musk is not going to let them cash out their shares.

I can’t read the article so I have no idea what it’s trying to say

I just know the officers referenced are owed over 50 million in shares alone. With another 70 something odd millions in advanced comp etc.

We should find out very quickly if Musk has any argument to make. If not he will be paying legal fees and damages if he goes forward.

IMO, it is only 50/50 that he tries to hold back any bonuses.

I love how all those fricking retards complain about capitalism but also give themselves multi million dollar termination agreements…. For literally being criminally bad at their job.
