All election ballots should require an original ink thumbprint on the ballot. This would prevent cheating and allow for mail in voting without worry of cheating. If the fingerprint is not clear or unreadable the ballot can't be counted. Every vote can then be linked to a unique voter. I really don't know of any other way to prevent cheating if you have people who want to cheat no matter what.

Citizens actual vote has to be anonymous, but their identity and right to vote has to be checked prior to that vote.

Ballots should all have the same level of security that a $100 bill has. Paper for the ballots has to be tightly controlled.

Retina would be more secure.

If no retina (no eyeballs), then no thumbs.

The election persons would just smear all the ballots they want tossed and then they could toss them.

They probably have them anyway. Every other method is open to fraud.

Well they can't print a whole bunch of ballots and add them to the totals as needed. Mass smearing of ballots could be handled by special paper and ink. It's just so much harder to cheat when you have to subtract votes rather than being able to add them at will. Democrat strongholds don't have that many republican votes they can subtract, and if you have smeared votes that are 95% republican in a democratic stronghold you can easily show cheating.

No one will take the time to hand verify a single thumbprint
(assuming it was done correctly), much less thousands of them.

I remember the cops coming to our school when we were younger and getting our thumb prints. I always assumed it was so they could do it before we wised up and said frick off.

With todays technology, there's no excuse to not absolutely guarantee that everyone who is registered to vote and wants to vote can do so, and that they can do so only once.
It makes you wonder why that hasn't been the case, and isn't the case.

Poll watchers and vote counters need to be comprised of people with integrity, and used as a backup to electronic counting every time.

If the gov't wants your thumbprint, they'll get it.

You don't need to verify by hand. They can scan the ballots and verify with a computer. You have to have a unique thumb print for each vote which makes it impossible to dump in +40,000 into an election.

I would be fine with this. If you are in a wheelchair have someone take you.

This is where family comes in.
