They were being bought. Basic commodities don’t just sit there, consumers were still buying at that price point. Like a poster already said it didn’t bother him and like I said McDonald’s never ran out.

Luckily, I have a yard egg market with multiple people to buy from. Never paid more than $3/dozen through all of this.

Egg producers found that it was cheaper to euthanize chickens instead of treating/vaccinating for Avian Flu. Male chickens have been euthanized for decades, because they can’t lay eggs and there not good for meat.
Some producers closed down facilities that produced eggs and sold out to pork producers. Chicken plant in Southeast Missouri Is now a pork plant. Now pork plants are closing, because pork sales were down 2% in March(pre-tariffs) compared to last year. That’s around 350 million pounds.

Did you miss the part where the Trump admin was practically screaming from the rooftops for a month before Easter that egg prices were gonna spike during Easter? You know, because of this little thing called supply and demand? shocker—prices go up.

I never once went to the store and couldnt get eggs during this "crisis". Not once
I've gone a handful of times, and had to run to another store in times past, but never once was out of eggs when they were at $8
