I am not going to say.
I can't think of a name that I have heard that might run that I would not vote for over Daniel. Even Wells!!
Layrisson is running for sure. Would not be my first choice but would get my enthusiast support in a runoff against Edwards.

I don't know, but politics likely. You can't take anything at face value in Tangi. Enemies can be friends at the blink of a eye. Hell in just the last Parish President's election the losing candidate took a job working for the #1 supporter of the winning candidate.

I think people are assuming this. I know a lot of close connected ppl and I have heard nothing for sure. Also most assume Bre will run for Sheriff but I hear it is more likely that it will be Parker.

Parker told me Bre was running. They are not trying to hide it.
Parker would do well to stay out of some of these controversies he opines on if he wants to help his brother.

I would imagine he does legal work for different lawyers. He can do that, he just can't practice in court anymore.

They can want someone else, but Daniel is stay comfortable in that position for as long as he wants. Nothing is going to come of the FBI investigation. He has covered himself too well.
Anyone can run against him, but they won't win.

Has nothing to do with Scott having an impact on Daniels career. When Scott retires, Sherman has the DA position locked in, no one will beat sherman out of it.

If this is the case I would think they know something that most don't. That would be that Daniel isn't running or won't be able to because of the FBI stuff. Or maybe they just think Daniel is that vulnerable now. I just know that it is nearly impossible to unseat a sitting Sheriff. Bre will make a damn good Sheriff. He has a pretty sweet gig now. He can sit in that job for the next 30 years if he wanted to. But I imagine it is now a legacy thing for him. Unlike Daniel it won't be about power for him. Bre is genuinely a good guy.

Bry wont run for Sheriff against Edwards, he will run the risk of becoming Tim Gideon. He won't beat Edwards, and Ponchatoula will vote him out after he loses.

Daniel supported both candidates equally, he even stated he would not endorse either candidate, and contributed the same amount of money to both campaigns.

I would agree with you that Daniel could have served his entire life as sheriff until this past year or so.
He can be beat and may very well get beat if he runs. People are tired of all these meth heads turned thieves that never seem to stay in jail while deputies are being investigated for their involvement in drug deals.
Loranger and one precinct in Ponchatoula are the two largest in the parish and he will lose both against any respectable candidate. He bought a house in Loranger that was listed for close to $1 million and when people see that and read about corruption in the Sheriff's department they get resentful.

Daniel may be going to do like Detective Pevey did and claim disability. The sheriff's association is pretty lenient in that regard I am told and they have a self insured worker's comp fund.
