Thanks, Decatur. I don't subscribe and was able to read the article. I wasn't persuaded by Goldberg's previous TDS reporting (particularly the bogus "losers" story). This time, however, I think Goldberg established his point: this WAS sensitive material that shouldn't have been disclosed to unauthorized personnel.
A mistake was made. The staffer who made it should probably be fired. Generally, I'm thrilled with Trump 2.0. Gabbard and Hegseth are two of my favorite appointees.
FWIW, I would have had more respect for them if they had said, "Yes, a terrible mistake was made. While we relied on staff to set up the group, we should have done our own due diligence."

It’s a big problem. It’s worrying that they were using something like Signal in the first place. It not being secure and then not recognizing who was in the chat is worse.
Personally I can’t blame the journalist at all. That’s what they do.
Our leaders have to do better. It doesn’t make you a leftist to want our side held accountable for being stupid. This isn’t the time to double down on it and continually try to discredit it. Acknowledge the mistake, make corrections, move on.
