After graduating from Med School, students then apply for residency in a medical speciality. Competition for residencies in some specialities is far tougher than others.
Ortho, Derm, Plastics, GU, and Ophthalmology are among the most competitive. Paul did his residency in Ophthalmology at Duke, one of the most competitive programs out there.
Olbermann is an imbecile seeking to cover for that fact by being a jackass.

Ophthalmologists aside from doing the same training in medical school as public health guys , see actual patients. Also they can explain optical physics....which is fascinating.
I would ask Olbermann to check with Baylor's School of Medicine before he makes any more foolish statements regarding Rand Paul's credentials.
