Fauci doesn't agree with himself, just saying.

While I agree with the statement, those numbers can be spun as to cause and effect. Will the panic drivers insist that these numbers are lower than expected (if indeed they are) due to their "reasonable" response?

From the beginning my philosophy was be concerned and avoid panic.

It's starting to look that way

And the stimulus bill will probably look pretty silly in retrospect.

It was a power play to derail Trump and Congress to get to go on a freebie, feelsgood, 2 trillion dollar spending spree. And it is not enough, they are already talking another round of over a trillion. Good Lort Almighty!

It’s really as if you people are being intentionally obtuse. Key word is “may” and obviously that prediction is being made after we made the economic harming shut downs to slow the infection rate. If we didn’t slow the infection rate than the probability that the mortality rate skyrockets as our hospitals become overwhelmed is much higher. Noone knows what will happen, we deal with probabilities.

We started with bad models, then moved to making knee jerk decisions based off of those same bad models be damned the other consequences...

Not saying we should not have done anything BUT what is coming out now damn sure doesn't look like it warranted shutting this country down...

The numbers did not add up from the start...

A sacrifice is supposed to be something worthy, among the most flawless and best of their kind. Does she qualify?

But we have to live in reality. Probabilities don't put food on the table or pay your bills do they? They don't around my house.

That is only valid if you know when the infection started.

You all realize that in 1918, we had no ventilators, right? The first iron long in widespread use wasn’t developed till 1928, and mechanical ventilators began to be adopted in the 1950#s. So this is a bit like trying to compare Tom Brady’s career to YA Tittle.
