Buying opportunity baws

Seems the past few months I've missed the buying . Long term investors don't care about slides like this like the idiot OP might suggest.

Got a rate cut, then slaps tariffs on China just to frick up everything.

So, the tariffs that were imposed were due to the deadline that China failed to meet. China agreed to lower their own tariffs and buy agricultural goods from the US by a certain date. They bluffed and thought Trump was bluffing too. Well, he isn't. So now China doesn't want to live up to the agreement. So they are pulling all agricultural trade with the US.

It's hurting them WAY WORSE than it is us.

I bet you watch how your 401K performs several times a day and switch your investments at the first sign of loss.

You probably have no chest for investment.

I doubt most 401K plans even allow you that much flexibility. You can't re-balance your account holdings daily

My stocks have gone up $175,000 since Trump was elected. I think I'll just hang on through these times of trials and tribulations.

Trump's toast if the economy goes in the crapper. China knows this and is willing to tank their currency for a year.
HRC the shedevil herself, Kerry, Obama and gang probably told China they will sell them more secrets like HRC did if they tank Trump.

Trump knows this he will negotiate now. They are scared to death of not getting power back.

Why would you? 401k's are not meant to be high frequency trading accounts.

And on the exact opposite end is the FedGov Thrift Savings Plan, where you can re-balance twice a month (and there are numerous websites trying to tell you when it's time to do so).

(It used to be allowed once per day, I knew a guy who spent entire days trying to track things. He ended up leaving and died in his 50's, never enjoying what he saved.)

Many 401k providers are allowing an optional self directed SMA account. Pretty big waiver you have to sign though and it isn't easy to setup. If your 401k is through Transamerica pretty good chance you have that option and the seperately managed account is gonna be through Schwab I believe. I don't do it. I stick to low expense funds mostly index in my 401k

Studies have shown most actively managed mutual funds perform worse than the market on a year to year basis.

Whoever thinks they can time the market wont be doing it successfully for a long time .

I closed down alot today alone. Down even more since 7/31.

It's hard to watch the numbers happen in real time, but it will be back.

ETA : No bragging meant, subtle or otherwise. I actually thought this was posted on the money board where many people talk about their portfolios and making money in general.
