No stimulus, no problem.

Let the Dems eat their bill and use it in November to show the American people all the dnc has done for them this year...

Unfortunately, I agree. This is textbook dead cat bounce.

Friday is primed for an all time drop, first pay period with millions not getting a pay check and no stimulus in sight

Would you think it would be possible that Trump would halt trading if a deal wasn’t reached by Friday?

That being said, even if we do reach a deal before Friday, millions are going to be missing paychecks this Friday regardless. It’s very sobering and tragic.

If this keeps up for the next 2-3 days then I'll be optimistic. Until then, nobody should be taking a one day gain as a sign of things to come.

Downvote if you want but it's the truth

The mitigating measures already in place:

1. Most working folks in the lower quintiles have already filed returns and many have received their own "stimulus" (tax refund)

2. Folks who owe taxes defer to July, no penalty, no interest

3. Folks who don't pay rent/mortgage cannot be foreclosed or evicted for now.

4. Folks who don't pay utilities won't get cut off, for now.

So what's left? Gas is cheap. The stores are open.

It will still be tight for some. And, if some good comes out of this, folks might stash a little away in an emergency fund for next time.

The bigger problem will be if this drags on with no stimulus, even if Jake thinks it will be lighting money on fire (which, IMHO, most welfare is, so why not working folks this one time?)

Very good response. I’m hoping that this will help stall any type of panic.

I guess one of my biggest concerns would be that the American family accustomed to living paycheck to paycheck will have no idea how to collect any type of assistance which could lead to panic.

This is an unprecedented event that has happened and even those at the top cannot offer a solid path forward.

Trump has done a great job given the hand of cards he has been dealt
