Going out on a limb here but guessing the "outside" lawyer will be from Perkins and Coie
Justice Department prosecutors are requesting that a federal judge appoint an outside lawyer to review the records obtained in a search of Rudy Giuliani’s apartment last week to help dispel allegations that former President Trump’s ex-personal attorney is being treated unfairly.
Additionally, they argued that such an appointment would be important both to the fairness and “the perception of fairness” in the investigation into Giuliani.

Rudy should never have asked the agents if they wanted the hard drives with Hunters data on them.
I would have just shut up and let them receive it, and I would make them give me a receipt for everything they took.

The fact that they confiscated all of his crap is the unfair part.
There is a statement said by someone a long time ago that said show me the man and I can show you the crime. This is basically starting that there are so many laws out there that any one of us commits crimes without even knowing it that aren't usually even prosecuted.
If this was a Democrat, none of this would be a problem. Hunter biden and John Kerry can both attest to this.
This is just proof of the weaponization of the doj by the democrats.
It is scary as hell.
