Sean Duffy was a professional lumberjack, an MTV Real World cast member, and is married to Rachel Campos, another former Real World cast member and a Fox and Friends host.

Elon is fricking Elon.

I'm going to roll with the word of the greatest human mind of my generation over the MTV folks. Trump allowing his retard lackeys to take the gig from Jared Issacman is probably the dumbest thing he did, purposely riling Elon. There was nothing to gain from this and everything to lose.

Opening the space program to bids from Jeff Bezos is foolish. I'm still surprised Elon hasn't built his own Seabase off the coast of some willing country and just flown missions to the ISS himself, taking offers from any and every country willing to pay for it. That's what is eventually going to happen if we keep poking the bear. Then the US will be stuck here with Amazon's shite rockets and no way to get to space.

pushing for NASA to fold into the Department of Transportation

Is this before or after we get our new, improved, totally digital fiber optics air traffic control system?

Yes. Starship is way behind benchmarks.
But Elon is right. You need a foward thinking genius to be in charge of NASA.

He is an attorney and was a DA for some years. Not that that is going to do him any good at NASA.

Let's see how much support this gets from the base.

I honestly have no idea what is going on.

What are the arguments for and against a move like that? Is Elon mad because he wants to run NASA, or has Duffy indicated he would do bad things for the space program?

Eta
What does "fold into" mean in this case? Is that in the context of budget, or active policy making?

NASA is where you draw the line? Not the hundreds of billions going to subsidize the criminal underclass to produce more generations of criminals to prey on you?

Orion has been in development for 20 years. Artemis has 1 rocket to fly then in burns up at a cost of four billion. The Artemis program 2012-2025 cost is 93 billion.

Shut up NASA

As I think about it, it would be good to have another visionary to head NASA. But Trump would not trust someone like that. For that reason Duffy will likely run NASA until 2028.
Do any of you think we will ever set foot on Mars?

You realize you’re mocking a private citizen about being “behind schedule” for getting to the moon right

A private company contracted by our government to provide a product (the HLS) that was supposed to be sending unmanned Starship missions to the moon a year ago and they have barely made orbit.

Private companies have been contracted to developed every spacecraft that NASA has used since its inception. They are all beholden to thier contracts to produce a product in a timely manner. Space X is failing to do so....so NASA is considering other options .

Yeah. It makes perfect sense to fold NASA into the Dept of Transportation since everyone is taking the next Amtrak train to the moon.

NASA needs to remain NASA. We don't need to take a chance of someone like Booty-gig being put in charge of NASA in even the most remote way.

Yea if there's one thing we know about government agencies they are huge sticklers for efficiency and staying on schedule.

kill NASA!

Please. Space travel has moved beyond having a government agency managing it.

What I don’t understand is why Elon wants to keep NASA.
