why did Jesus feel need for the disclaimer?

He was demonstrating His love for us and modeling compassion and unconditional love, so we could emulate Him.

I think using these kinds of things as “gotchas” to the pro life movement are cynical politics, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a larger discussion to be had about whether we are a culture of death or a culture of life

Great point. I don’t see how anyone could argue that we, as a society, value life.

Of course, but hypothetically, if a child’s parents are unable or unwilling to feed them, should the child starve?

Allowing the cycle of shitheads popping out babies for checks in perpetuity is the ULTIMATE cruelty.

The SOLUTION isn't pretty, but it's a solution.

If you want to SAVE millions of children, at some point you have to start punishing bad behavior.

No, not letting children STARVE, but limiting the options of the breeders who feel no shame.

No cash benefits, period and SEVERELY LIMIT the scope of the foods/goods that can be bought with welfare.

Additionally, start SHAMING these people who are harming children by USING them as currency.

No. It was not unconditional. The condition was the people did not know what they were doing was wrong, or how very wrong it was. Further, the need to plead for their forgiveness should be illuminating.

The question you should ask pertains to "forgiveness" in a scenario where the culprits "did and/or do know what they do" is wrong.

How many illegals have you personally taken into your home as permanent residents?

I'm stealing that MEME.

It's so perfect for charlatans like 4Commies.

I believe God loves us unconditionally. If you believe He loves us only under certain conditions then we just disagree and it’s a waste of time to debate this. There is nothing you can say that will convince me God loves us only under certain conditions.

The “need” was to show us how much He loves us and to model compassion and forgiveness. Jesus IS God so there was never a “need” for Jesus to talk to God. It was all for our benefit and understanding.

Forgiveness doesn’t align with crucifying someone. Or executing someone in any fashion. I understand what Jesus asks us to do. Do you?

It’s not enough to forgive someone seven times, but seventy times seven.

Awesome.

Please let local authorities know that you are willing to house dangerous, violent, recently paroled individuals in your house in an effort to help them re-enter the world.

Please make sure and specify that you want rapists, child-molesters and murderers to be sent to your home so that you can forgive them over and over while they are doing what they do.

Only CONDITIONALLY as far as people like 4Commies is concerned.

You see, she claims to "despise" abortion, but admits she will gladly see the unborn sacrificed if it will save her "pets" some discomfort.

Romans 2:3-5
Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.
