Yep.

I agree that government assistance is structured in a way that discourages recipients from becoming financially independent.

Providing summer food stamps for kids who are eligible for free or reduced lunch and whose parents don’t receive food stamps doesn’t handcuff anyone.

Since when did providing meals become the schools’ primary function?

The idea that parents have kids that they can't feed is justification for more abortion.

Not sure if serious, but aborting is illegal in Louisiana.

No, that's the government protecting the rights of the unborn.

Do you call it micro-managing when the government makes murder illegal?

I wouldn’t say providing meals is a school’s primary function.

Sounds like they are getting some assistance.

God forbid that their actual parents do something to feed their kids.

The idea that schools are being used as a food outlet for poor people is another reason the public school system is a failure. Mission creep is a real thing and the schools have creeped their way to something that is barely recognizable as education institutions. They are basically warehouses for unwanted children.

Do kids have the right to eat?

Absolutely does. It removes responsibility to feed kids from parents to community, and creates shitty people.

Youre institutionalizing children before they even have a chance to learn independence.

I have the right to bear arms. I don't have the right of the government to buy me a gun.

Imagine having to feed your own kids.

But if for whatever reason, you can’t because you are too busy buying the new iPhone, get involved with a church and I promise you won’t starve.

The government should stay out of it. Everything they touch is corruptible.

They get assistance through free and reduced schools lunches. School lunches are only available when school is in session.

So... government assistance.

This is why their parents get food stamps.

I don’t have to imagine it. I feed my own kids.

You’re so sheltered. Are you aware that many people are homeless? And many of these homeless people include children?

Are you willing to feed the hungry or give drink to the thirsty? Are you willing to clothe the naked or provide shelter for the homeless?
