You know, we probably could have taken some huge steps towards a much smaller percentage of our demand being filled by fossil fuels, but guys aligned with you (not saying you, specifically, just guys on your side) demonized nuclear in the 1970s.

Soap, deodorant, crayons all made from oil. For the love of God we must continue to utilize oil for the children. A world without crayons is not a world worth living in.

Yes, so much is made from oil that can't be substituted in a practical sense at this point. Now, that is another good argument to replace fossils, particularly oil, for energy because it would be better, long-term, to use it for more persistent things.

Now, there is so much plastic in landfills that it could be mined/extracted at some future date, once all the untapped reserves are gone.

But, the other thing the left can't wrap their minds around - even if we don't need oil for cars, we're still likely to consume ALL the oil, gas and coal we know of for either energy or as a component of manufactured goods.

Yes, all of it.

What's the solution? Does your solution guarantee climate change will be stopped?

indeed,
Our TD friend Ottothewise posted as much many lifetimes ago.

Thus it shall be.

A lot of this will be accepted once we gear up for deep space travel to colonize.

After seeing a picture of windmills covering a mountain top, I was looking up some things on how gawdy wind farms are, and if there is a movement to control them. Crazy how much the people in the UK hated them going back over 10yrs, and we let them gain so much traction here. It's ruined the landscape, and I'm not some hippy either. Crazy how the left were ok with killing of endangered animals, and ruining the landscape.

Shows how hypocritical the left is. They complain about rich repub supporters, and just transferred that to their side. So no they don't believe anything they push, but doing it to enricg their side/pockets.

These things need to go to an end.

Anyone that solar panels their home, and partners up with an electric company better keep tabs on that company's calculations. Sooo good luck there.

Outline your plan for weaning us off of all fossil fuels; not just cars and energy, with a timeline. We'll wait on your answer.

name one person that's advocating this

If Dems are against fossil fuel and nuclear, what other approved forms of energy are there, besides solar and wind?

Last we heard from.obamas energy sec

There is no disposal that is safe.

Fukishima is about to be tossed in.the ocean.

The russians tossed barrels of it into the baltic.

Anyone who thinks the answer is all of one or the other is just completely wrong. We neeed diversity of generation type and location to support a stabile and flexible energy infrastructure.

Sure. You're engaging in the fantasy that the people that think we can go all renewable are a lot more mainstream than they actually are.

Correct

I do think we need to up our nuclear infrastructure even if it has to be government funded

Coal should be phased out as fast as possible and it has already been surpassed by natural gas which is a good step
