Does the left really believe we can power the entire country on solar and wind?

I dont see any serious steps towards nuclear, and supposedly everyone under 35 thinks O&G is the reincarnation of satan, so where is the energy of our country going to come from?

Are we all going to be forced into veganism and biking for 2 hours in the sweltering heat to work?

Electric vehicles still require energy.

does the right really believe we can go on with fossil fuels forever?

it's clear you have no interest in honest debate so enjoy your circle jerk

Name one person who thinks fossil fuels will last forever.

Which part of the OP makes this clear? Name one dem or influential and connected climate activist that is pushing nuclear as a solution.

An attempt to run the entire country on solar panels and wind turbines will end in disaster.

The left is only concerned with false claims that allow the left to grow a bigger more fully encompassing government to erode away our rights and freedoms...

The Green New Deal, a Democrat proposal only proposed wind and solar, and nowhere was nuclear an option. This deal has been supported on the media by top Democrats.

Solar will never work until the technology exists to incorporate solar collection it into building and paving materials.

Once that happens, it might work.

Only then.

My source for this comes from Mad Money to today, where Jim Cramer said millennials arent investing in O&G.

My philosophy about what the left wants to do with energy is the same as it is about what they want to do with money: knock yourself out and leave me out of it.

If you want shitty cars and ineffective heat and AC, then you volunteer and put yourself in that situation. If you want to give the government loads of your money to pay for other peoples’ bullshite, then you break out your preferred form of payment and send it in. Not a single person will stop you, but I want no part of it.

I’ll keep what I have and laugh at you.

-However- not one leftist who advocates these things will personally inconvenience themselves to accomplish them. It’s all about forcing others to do it. Every bit of it. And you can GFY.

Yes I will agree most folks under 35 have about a 5 minute attention span and can see about that far into the future.

You know, we probably could have taken some huge steps towards a much smaller percentage of our demand being filled by fossil fuels, but guys aligned with you (not saying you, specifically, just guys on your side) demonized nuclear in the 1970s.

Now, I get it - the Soviets were funding a lot of these anti-nuke/no nukes groups to weaken our defense structure, but the green movement in the United States never went back and rethought that.

So, now we're really down to solar and wind (maybe). You guys don't even like hydroelectric and geothermal (and all of these renewables have their own challenges, certainly nothing is perfect). At least fossil fuels have the advantage of being very efficient.

Improvements in solar and wind are coming along, as is storage (key for these intermittent sources), but we're at least 100 years away from being able to not use fossil fuels for energy at all (assuming fusion isn't solved in that timeframe).

Such an informative answer.

Please tell me, aside from electric vehicles, how everyday products American use and live off of will be produced without hydrocarbons?

Dems don’t even want nuclear energy.

How are you going to make all of the plastic and polymers (your cell phone..) without a viable alternative energy source. Even when we do make the switch to electric vehicles it’s shch a small percent of what hydrocarbons produce. The downstream chemical plants and infrastructure will remain because solar and wind will never replace what’s required for ALL of the products American use.
