I don't like Pelosi but she is a master politician. Trump is unlikely to win this battle.

When she's got at least 90% of the American media willing to lie, distort, obfuscate, and otherwise carry water for her, yeah, I kind of like her odds.

Trump is trying to ngotiate

ZERO money for the wall is a non started

Dems can get damned near anything they want, but refuse to even negotiate, much less compromise

$2.5 billion for a wall and accept the DACA seems like a no brainer

She’s just there to upset his power and make him ineffective...she could give him $3B for his wall and still ‘win’ this last month.

Postpone, delay, investigate...they just want to handcuff him until the next election season. This is working for them.

None of these people are used to a GOP President they can’t bend over. They haven’t seen one since Reagan. And even then, they managed to hoodwink him on occasion.

These people’s idea of compromise has always been “give us what we want or else”. They’re dealing with an actual businessman now. That doesn’t fly anymore, and it’s fricking with their way of thinking.

bullshite.

Democrat's definition of compromise has always been Republicans giving them everything and they get shite on in return.

Sadly, most Republicans have happily played along because they were part of the play and had memorized the script.

Trump is not playing that shite.

frick them.

That is exactly what I suggested, both sides giving a little and getting it done. We agree completely.

By the way, the spending resolution passed before the last Congress ended, prior to the shutdown, included about 1.8 billion for border security. It was exactly the kind of compromise you suggest. It passed the House and the Senate with Trump's blessing. Then Trump changed his mind, made a new demand, and said if he didn't get everything he demanded, he would be happy to shut the government down. Which is exactly what happened.

I know it is history, but it isn't ancient history. We should all remember this.

I've been searching for this deal that Trump agreed to and then backed out of for 2 days. All I can find are where the Senate offers $1.6 billion for "security, but no wall" and a $5 billion offer for a wall from the House that was struck down by dems in the Senate. Several articles mention Schumer repeatedly saying the Senate dems will not support a wall whatsoever.

quote:

What’s more, the $1.6 billion the Senate earmarked could not be used to construct any part of a border wall, Schumer said last week, adding that the money could be spent only on fencing where necessary and for technology deployed at the border.

LINK

Can you please post a link to this deal for wall funding that passed both the House and the Senate and then was rejected by Trump? Thanks
