Nobody said anything about a closed primary. Open makes it easier, especially if the Democratic candidates are weak again which they will be.

People aren’t going to GAF what Graves did 5 years ago.
Graves will absolutely challenge Landry and make him look like the Bobby Boucher retard that he is.

Several posts on this board said Graves will primary Landry I assume they meant closed primary, but maybe not as far as Graves Scalise and Johnson and other MAGA people won’t forget what he did during Speakers election

The real Rs are the ones that carved Graves out of his congressional seat. They are never going to forget that idiot bastard. Theres TONS of money waiting on the sideline to keep him out of the next office he tries to run for
You can bookmark this post too. He pissed off ALL the power players in La Republican circles. Every Single One! It takes quite the feat to do that

Garrett Graves is a snake. He betrayed Steve Scalise in the Speaker’s race. I’d abstain if Graves is on the ballot. As many issues as I have with Landry, he’s better than Graves by a wide margin.

Does Jeff Landry win reelection in 2027?

Certainly there has to be a better option.
The better option has to be electable. We can't run them through a primary, win with less than 50% and then lose to a Democrat.

Hell no. He thinks everyone is as dumb as he is.

Oh, yes they will. The hate runs deep

Rep. Garret Graves (R-La.) is increasingly persona non grata in the GOP for threatening to challenge other Louisiana Republicans
"He creates a lot of his own problems," one GOP member said, adding that Graves "literally goes out of his way to go after people."
“Then there’s some, you know, member, unnamed member of Congress, who’s naming somebody that is not even a doctor saying I'm going to die in six months,” Scalise told POLITICO at the time. “That’s how bad it was.” After winning the speakership in October, Johnson removed Graves from a plum spot in leadership

How life is going for this former McCarthy deputy: Not great
Republicans in the Bayou State are privately speculating that Garret Graves made too many enemies, both in Washington and back home. He often criticized conservative hardliners while serving as McCarthy’s unelected right-hand man, and also endorsed Landry’s primary opponent.

Graves committed Cassidy level betrayal in my book.
Graves chose wrongly when he joined up with Kevin McCarthy and the RINOs. Hard to come back from that.

The average Louisianan isn’t going to care about some bullshite in DC that will be nearly a decade old by the time next election comes. The only people that care about that shite are the people on this board, who all said Landry was the best candidate last election, which speaks volumes.

Steve Scalise took a bullet for MAGA and Republicans. If you think average Louisiana voters will overlook Graves stabbing Scalise in the back to save Kevin McCarthy, then you’re seriously out of touch with reality.

Not a snowball's chance in hell UNLESS he pulls his head out of his #ss.

You ever met the average Louisianan?
You’re giving the citizens of this state way too much credit. Most couldn’t pick McCarthy out of a lineup.
Unless Graves was fricking hoes while wearing diapers, they don’t care about some political bullshite in DC.

I will vote for any other Republican over Landry. I'll vote twice if he happens to be a Republican THAT IS NOT A frickING LAWYER!
