I would not feel comfortable in the care of that doctor.

If they lack the self control to not post divisive material on social media, they probably shouldn’t be working for hospital.

I know what it doesn’t merit, a bullet in the neck. So yes, if a POS wants to act brave and put their POS opinion out for everyone to see, they deserve the consequences.

Publicly on social media? Yes, because it shows a lack of awareness and control. It’s not even a moral thing. It shows how stupid they are.

What she is saying is that his words are violence and violence deserves violence.

It’s really up to the employer. People have the right to say vile things online and others have the right to complain about those statements. Ultimately, it’s up to the employer to determine the employees worth.

Especially certain jobs that require the ability to not show such bias or hatred towards someone’s beliefs.

Criticism? NO.

Saying you are happy he's dead or making light of his murder? ABSOLUTELY.

The latter shows a complete lack of humanity.

A lot of factors apply to your question. Should/would my garbage man be fired for saying something about Kirk that could be considered insulting? Probably not.

Any rational person would agree that this is the most controversial subject going on right now across social media. I believe an MD who cannot control their emotional impulses enough to simply avoid the subject entirely on social media, yeah that person most definitely deserves to be fired and should find another way to make a living. Same goes for teachers, nurses, law enforcement, etc etc etc.

A PICU MD should be above name calling on Social Media. If I was their employer I would make them stop.

We saw people get fired for donating to Trump. People assaulted for wearing a hat.

I have no qualms with this reckoning.

That’s what blows my mind. These idiots forgot the internet is forever. She might have been emotional or having a bad day, but a healthcare professional is supposed to have better judgment than that.

I don’t think criticizing him should. I think welcoming his assassination and harm to his family does. Especially in certain professions like hers. Stating what you thought of him, whether it’s wrongly based or not should be free from firing. Unless, it breaks some policies the employee agrees to upon accepting employment.

Most just blindly sign company policy as a ritual to get employment.

If you celebrated his death. Then, yes. I wouldn't feel comfortable working or being around someone who wanted me killed because of a political and religious disagreement.

She's a pediatrician. So any "comfortable" proposition would apply to your kids, which makes it just that much worse in my estimation.
